Apparently some fans are upset with the look of the upcoming BBC series The Watch which is based on parts of Terry Pratchett's Discworld novels. IDK, I'm willing to give it the benefit of the doubt. Pratchett changed the aesthetic of the Discworld like 5 times over his lifetime, I think it could some more would be fine.

@srol oh right! I wanna watch this
@srol Whoa! That looks really cool! I'm hyped!
@kingannoy I think it looks pretty cool too, but some people aren't happy it doesn't look more fantasyish or steampunk like the previous Discworld movies.
@srol I don't think I saw all the previous films... Maybe I should! Any recommendations?
I love this though, it looks busy/messy, with a almost HDR like color scheme. It makes me want to enjoy it already 😃
@kingannoy The live action films very closely match the aesthetics as laid out in the novel. So the Color of Magic looks very much like a medieval fantasy, while Hogfather and Going Postal are very Steampunkish. It's been awhile since I've seen them, but I remember they kind of drag on
